Hello republican, May I introduce you to Pieter van den Toorn? You guys will really hit it off…
and from the humanities: anyone who thinks there are no conservatives in universities has never been to a department/school of music
STEM fields, economics, law, polisci etc. are full of conservatives. Universities have incredible diversity of thought. The criticism is failure of imagination, boils down to the writer defining “university” as a few humanities depts. Business schools aren’t hiring Marxist economists for balance. 😂

Neurodivergence is Not a Moral Defect
Mere hours after the Senate confirmed Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. as Secretary of Health and Human Services on February 13, the White House released an Executive Order entitled “Establishing the Preside…

Please take a couple of minutes to read this piece.

It's important.

I've Been Paralyzed Since I Was 3. Here's Why Kindness Toward Disabled People Is More Complicated Than You Think
Editors Note: This is a boldly honest look at how people with paralysis have to deal with "overly kind" (well-meaning) offers of help. It's a uniquely

Since it apparently needs to be said: As a Jew who works on a university campus, I am safest in a country that protects academic freedom and liberal values of due process of law. Anyone who supports extrajudicial detention of students for "wrong" ideological opinions is not doing it for my safety.

It's hardly the worst part here, but the "Shalom" here, by an administration dominated by non-Jews, is getting to me. If Jews do not speak up against this, our tradition is going to be deeply harmed by allowing it to be exploited this way.

Posting this again, in case anyone thinks deportation has any place in any conversation about Jewish safety.

It's an absolute disgrace to see universities cooperating with this kind of abomination.
When I see xenophobia and threats of deportation of “aliens” leveraged in “defense” of Jews and “against antisemitism”—especially when it comes alongside violent repression of gender and sexual “deviance”—I think of Eva Kotchever (also known as Eve or Evelyn Adams).

Or hear me out… STOP EQUATING AUTISM WITH GETTING MEASLES *nd rage activated*
Begging public health leaders to understand the basic fundamentals of misinformation.
According to a former editor of JAMA, we need more studies on whether or not vaccines cause autism.

What mistakes does he make?

I’m saving this segment for the next time I teach Rite of Spring. What I want to know is the backstory of the researcher/writer who came up with that tangent.
thank you @lastweektonight.com for that Rene Magritte/Igor Stravinsky joke (with a Saint-Saëns mention!) -- that was much appreciated by me & maybe no one else 😂
