MCR merch idea: a makeup palette grey/white base makeup, with additional colors in unsettling green, mucus yellow, bruise lavender etc.

They could call it “Foundation of Decay”

If you want a weird but true fact to talk about:

Dexter Holland, lead singer of The Offspring, was instrumental in this. His doctorial thesis in molecular biology was sequencing mRNA in HIV. The paper was also heavily cited in creating the COVID-19 vaccine.
It feels like we should be making a bigger deal of “we actually did in fact find a cure for AIDS”

Evidence is growing that some HIV-infected infants, if given antiretroviral drugs early in life, are able to suppress their viral loads to undetectable levels and then come off the medicine. www.wired.com/story/the-fi...

This August I'm running in Brave Space Alliance's 5k to support my fellow trans Chicagoans 🏳️‍⚧️

If you know me, you know I loathe running. But I hate what's happening to trans rights more

It would mean a lot to me if you'd consider donating: give.classy.org/jey

I would watch THE SHIT out of this and I am not being ironic lol
Since we’re in a golden age of new Star Wars tv shows, I’ll again pitch “David Attenborough style nature documentaries but of fictional Star Wars creatures.”

No empire. No Jedi. Like, what the Jedi would watch on tv to relax after a stressful mission.

your support for marginalized people must be rooted in principle

if it is rooted in relationships, as most "support" is, it disintegrates as soon as a marginalized person acts in a way you disapprove of

that isn't support, it's a "reward" for good behavior by an oppressor

Anyone still trying to justify their love of Jowling Kowling’s opus might think I don’t get it. I waited for book releases. I remember where I read pivotal scenes. I used those books to learn how to write, even. I was all about it in ways you wouldn’t believe.

And if I can move on, so can you.

And before anyone tries to justify it with -that- quote, think about whether you have an impact on a fictional world. And whether you participate in it. And then ask yourself the same about this non-fictional world that we share.
“The series means a lot to me”

Babe, that world isn’t real, those characters aren’t real — this one is. Trans people in this world are real.

"But I'm a millennial, that series was just so important to me growing up!" Yeah well it *also* was to a bunch of trans people and yet somehow we managed to set it aside when it became clear the harm the creator was causing, so.

"could someone else write books about a magical school???"

🫠 yay, it's me being a bitch o'clock

If your big concern in all this is that someone needs to provide you an ethical avenue to be a sad millennial wishing for some reason you were still in grade school, your priorities are truly fucked.

How do I convince @govpritzker.illinois.gov to buy some unused office space downtown, convert it to lab space, and poach fired federal scientists

We need a legitimate "CDC" tracking infectious disease ASAP

And it would further establish Chicago as a biomed hub long term...
