My takeaway from every new Epstein revelation is that some powerful people victimized many powerless young women, many more knew, some actively enabled it--and we're still being told that MeToo and accountability for sexual violence have gone too far

SNAP is in fact another subsidy to corporations that don’t pay a living wage to their workers.
The average US taxpayer spends $36 a year on SNAP

You know what they spend on corporate subsidies? $670

Poor and disabled people who need food are not the problem

If you’re angry about “your money” feeding people but not angry it’s giving tax cuts to the wealthy?

You’re doing their dirty work.

However much you think your data is being collected by police, you're probably underestimating it. The actual scale is mind-bending. And it's tempting to think "oh well I don't do crimes so whatever" but what about if and when your beliefs, associations, or speech becomes a crime?
I spent the week at the police surveillance convention and let me tell you my biggest observation: The name of the game now is consolidating as much information as humanely possible from surveillance devices, the internet, other governmental data, and literally a million other places. 🧵

anyone telling you that palestinians should peacefully resist the zionist occupation of their land should remember the last time they did that israeli snipers fired indiscriminately into the crowd, specifically aiming at people's legs to cripple them
also worthwhile to set the calls for peaceful resistance next to the insistence of the Israeli right and its regime allies on labeling just about all protest and dissent "terrorism" or "terrorist sympathizing" regardless of their actual tactics

And if you are able, please donate MONEY to your local food bank.

Donating food is not a bad thing, but if you are thinking of buying food to donate - just donate money. Food banks know best what they need, and can order in bulk, making your money go a LOT further.
A reminder to those with the means to give: Our food banks have never been this taxed and the cutting of SNAP benefits will make the strain much larger.

For those struggling: There are people who teach very low cost cooking on YouTube who are creative.

My theory about the autism/neurodivergence panic?

Yes it's rooted in transphobia and the eugenics of people on the spectrum who need assistamce with ADLs...but it's also linked to a disdain for a very vocal, hyper competent, demographic of skilled people with injustice sensitivity.

However, I'll still need help in the days to come while I wait on the VA to process my paperwork for housing assistance. I figure a 2 month wait for this. I have a link in my bio for my GoFundMe

Here is Pete Hegseth's tweet announcing the return of the Confederate monument to Arlington National Cemetery. The plan is to restore it and reinstall in 2027.

It's important to point out that this monument was never referred to as a "Reconciliation Monument."
