Hi, I wrote a book about my dad and our journey with pancreatic cancer. Hoping it helps someone out there.

Still thinking of the reddit comments on people who hated Nope. Specifically the one that said, "I had no feelings for any of these characters." Hmm, I wonder why? I have a few theories!!! 🥴

Rewatching One Battle After Another and it's great. Flawed humans, no heroes. The absurdity of racism. The contradictory shit of people in power. The same tired fight for people who have no choice. Not really satire, just reality. Feels like a Rorschach test on how people see it. I might love it.

Photo by Pierre Lavie. Yes this is me. And I threw my Leica. It landed on the bass plate with hardly a scratch. Another Photographer grabbed it along with my phone and I was able to track him later. I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.

We watched Kiki's Delivery Service, The Cat Returns and Totoro together. She actually watched catbus lol. She's still eating and drinking. Hoping to get to Thursday or Friday and let her have this one last normalish week. Baby girl is refusing to leave and I don't blame her 🥲❤️

We're having our last Caturday together. Soaking up each minute by her side. So many tears yesterday and today. Turns out it's hard to take, no matter how old you are. Spent today coming to terms with it, end of an era.

I think I wouldn’t be taking this so hard if it weren’t for losing our ray of light while trapped in a rapidly dimming world. It’s been a colossal amount of sadness. Not a time to lose something you love.

It's been 18 years and we're going to have to say goodbye to our baby Macchi. My brain knows it's time, but my heart doesn't want to let it be true. It's been a rough week. Trying to prepare myself for what is likely our last hours together with this creature who brought us so much joy.

Meanwhile near where they killed Renee Good ICE was terrorizing a high school — and now Minneapolis has canceled school for the week.

None of this is about safety. A lawless regime with no guardrails.

My personal guiding question remains this:

What have I done to alleviate suffering today?

Convinced that being able to answer that affirmatively each night is what has powered me through the past few years, and lets me sleep at night.
As daily goals, "stop fascism," "defeat evil," and "save the world" probably aren't going to get you anywhere, and might leave you feeling overwhelmed and helpless, but "work towards building something good" is always achievable, concrete, and useful.

Unsurprisingly, none of the basic networks have bothered to break in with news about Venezuela. The rot is is palpable.

Remember how appalled we all were in 2022 when Russia completely unprovoked attacked Ukraine? That is what we’re doing tonight with Venezuela. We are the bad guys here. Everyone who supports this is supporting unprovoked murder. Fuck every last one of them

Loving Plur1bus showing the lull of a soulless, manipulative plague obliterating creativity, human experiences and culture. Could be ai, capitalism, colonization, manifest destiny, it’s all the same. To me it’s mainly ai through and through. Our unbothered annihilation.

I want to say good things about Welcome to Derry but it’s hard to ignore the use of ai. It’s difficult to believe them that only the intro and advertisements were ai… nothing else, ok? On the other hand I don’t want to punish the actors and other artists because of some greedy execs. Real scary.
