The people at CBECI were kind enough to send me a copy of their updated Bitcoin power consumption data

At the end of 2024, Bitcoin's total consumption for 2024 *did* end up matching that of Pakistan. 2024 saw the biggest jump in power consumption ever. Absolutely wild stuff ->

Woke up today to a radio report of Trump claiming ownership for Neuschwanstein because he believes he is the rightful successor to King Ludwig II.

Then I realized it‘s April 1.

Then I realized it’s not the most crazy thing I’ve heard in the past weeks and also more of a minor issue in comparison.

Tusk did not announce a Polish nuclear weapons program, but he didn't rule it out either.

Tusk seems to be opening a national debate in Poland on acquiring nuclear weapons. Aldo suggested he might be in favor.

So much of the US coverage of the German elections is cast in a "sky is falling" AfD rising apocalypse frame. I get it. The AfD is going to 2x its vote and get around 20%. But another way to look at this is that the AfD blew it. The conditions couldn't be better for the AfD to surge and yet. 1/ 🧵
