same thing with "identifies as" language. they KNOW it's demeaning bc they make jokes about it all the time. and even though they like to claim we're all valid or all gender is fake or whatever, they're never going to seriously describe themselves as "identifying" as a man or woman as they do us

it's bigotry, yes. but it's also the only way a lot of ppl have heard us described. when this kind of language had a monopoly in media, law, policy etc it makes sense that some ppl might not realize that it is not neutral terminology

i am very exhausted by disinformation about the cost of transition healthcare. it costs less than $100 for 1-2 years of hormones, depending on your exact sourcing. presenting HRT as impossibly expensive and inaccessible to people who need HRT but don't know how is equivalent to medical gatekeeping.

It's incredible just how on the ball trans people were about those US think tanks influencing British politics, going to great length to detail all these links and connections, only for it to fall on deaf ears because of how aggressively trans people were frozen out and disenfranchised.

imo "violence aimed at elites from non-elites" is the category of violence most disfavored in elite discourse. and violence that flows from elites to non-elites is not conceived of as violence at all. and these ideas frame the entire elite conception of who charlie kirk was and what his murder means
