If you want to know how your child is doing in school please speak with your child’s educators. At the elementary level (K-8) EQAO data is used months after tests are written to determine the allocation of severely limited resources to try to close identified gaps.

If you want to eat more fruits and veggies, try pre-washing and cutting fruits and veggies and putting them in the fridge in clear, easy-to-open containers.

Reducing barriers is such a powerful life hack.

Now apply this strategy to other things in life and watch the magic.

Massive shoutout out to whoever handles the Royal Canadian Air Force’s social media account. They responded to every single comment on their already very solid Trans Day of Remembrance post and they responded like this…

Spending some time this afternoon pondering how we can strengthen local riding associations through a member-led model that involves collaboration instead of competition for scarce resources. Thank you to @heathermcpherson.bsky.social for creating this space and time to share and learn.

I know that it probably does not feel good to be called “corrupt”.

But… have you tried… I dunno… maybe not being so… corrupt?

Just a suggestion. 🤷‍♀️

School board trustees likely to be eliminated by the end of the year. More boards to be placed in provincial takeover.

But no mention of how we are actually going to fix crumbling schools, fix the spec ed funding formula, and address safety issues.

Ontario education minister eyes more possible school board takeovers as Bill 33 passes | CBC News
Ontario Education Minister Paul Calandra says a newly passed bill granting him more powers to take control of school boards is a start, but not the end, of changes to education governance.

Many Canadians are processing the shock and betrayal of Elizabeth May, federal leader of the Green Party, voting in favour of a federal budget that is harmful to the planet. I recognize that nobody wanted a winter election, but this one stings.

Doug Ford is why we can't have nice things. What I'd like to know is how his government manages to add $100 billion in new debt while chronically underfunding both education and health care. We are not being served. Ford's pals are getting richer.

So…

The federal budget passed.

No election triggered.

Now we need to think about how we can support each other to get through the harder times ahead.

Times are already tough.

It’s going to get worse.
