Waterloo Region has one of the highest rates of unsheltered homelessness in the country. 43% of unhoused residents live completely outside — compared to just 10% in Toronto.

Just finished session 2 of #EqualVoice Campaign School. We had the opportunity to hear from Waterloo MP Bardish Chagger and see her adorable Pandemic Pup Khushi (ਖੁਸ਼ੀ means “happiness” in Punjabi).

11yo won a gift basket in the raffle at the St. Stephen’s Church craft and bake sale yesterday. She gets the chocolate, but our orange tabby has claimed the basket.

We have more kids than ever in the region of Waterloo who are experiencing housing and food insecurity, & more parents experiencing layoffs & job insecurity. More domestic violence. Kids whose families cannot afford therapy, winter clothing, or sometimes even just rent and food.
