One of my visual poems from "Classic Crimes," done with embroidery. I didn't promote my book, which came out late May, because of some awful personal stuff that hopefully someday will end. ANYWAY, if you're so inclined & buy my book I will happily send you a collage postcard to thank you. You pick.

Looking for an *L.A. based* artist who (against all odds) has time for a poster gig before the end of the year.

It's for a science + art event.

We can offer $500 for the gig.

Dreadfully sorry about the timeline. Link a portfolio if you're interested, I'll delete this post when we found someone.

y'all have got to start making 'zines . I don't care if they're bad. Sometimes it's better if they are. I just need everyone who reads this to make a 'zine.

It's the same w/my autoimmune disease, also triggered by COVID: "The worst part of getting Long COVID was the cruelty of the disease... The next-worst part, and just as heartbreaking, was discovering how few of my friends and loved ones could engage with my illness in ways that felt caring." A 🧵
“The problem with Long COVID is that most of society would rather not see it.”

@philipandrewhoover.bsky.social writes that he often feels that he’s living a double life. How can this sick side of him be so central, so enormous, yet so unseen by those who know and love him? bit.ly/4pf80g7

IMPORTANT reminder for when you print zines:

Set your printer to "Scale: 100%"

Many printers automatically resize to 94% or something, which will shrink the image and give you weird borders when you fold the zine.

Scale: 100%.

We’re honored & grateful to announce that Fence received a 10K grant from NYSCA to support our literary efforts in 2026!

Simultaneously, we recognize that this grant only funds less than 10% of our budget, and that we depend on you to sustain our continued publishing: fenceportal.org/support/. 💌

Just a friendly reminder as we go into the holidays:

Folks don't have to explain to you why they don't drink.

If you offer them a drink and they decline, don't ask them why. It's not your business.

Just offer them something without alcohol to drink instead. And move on.

This week, I withdrew from a speaking engagement at a public university because they sent me a list of prohibited “words & concepts.” I will not humor this censorship. It does a disservice to the stories I’m discussing & the audience, who deserve unfettered access to information & conversation.
