The most successful zine distro I know of is Wasted Ink in Arizona. I think it's a nonprofit brick & mortar space that is colocated with a bunch of other things, maybe a bookstore, print shop. They sell online too. IDK if they can pay rent but from afar it seems to be a success. Charissa is great.
