Husband, dad, and union worker from New Jersey. Strong supporter of Liberalism.

I like history, woodworking, native plants, and buying local.
100% agree. Even while I served a short stint *on* the local party committee it felt very insular. Not being on the committee you wouldn't even know it existed outside of GOTV efforts.
ah, perhaps instead of pumping millions into endless factional infighting Dem donors could invest in making local Dem organizations genuine civic spaces that can reach people during and between elections

Didn't get a candid photo but great turnout at #NoKings in Caldwell, NJ!

There were a few Trump supporters who kept driving by, and they literally had images of Trump as a king. These people aren't being quiet about it.

At times like these it's worth remembering that the 4th of July doesn't commemorate a great victory or achievement.

The war was well underway and things would become even more bleak

Instead we should remember it for being when people soberly saw the fight ahead and fully committed to it. 1/

22 hours in on this Big Disastrous Bill, and there’s a reason why the Republicans are flailing: they know it’s reckless and wrong.

We’re going to keep the pressure on. Please help us spread the word.

It's amazing to me that so much media leads with Mamdani being "a socialist", and never explores what that word even means to him.

This guy put out a great pro-capitalism ad a month ago.

I've been a Discover customer for a long time and have had really good experiences with them. I'm pretty dismayed by it getting bought up by Capital One. It's going to be bad for the overall economy and bad for customers and employees.

We need to cool it with mergers/acquisitions in this country.

Trump literally has a pre-Adam Smith worldview.
In a sense, Trump is the most anti-capitalist president we've had, at least in modern times. He clearly does not believe that markets are price-discovering or value-generating.
This is key. The Trump mind cannot conceive of creating a product of value that people will buy without trickery or deceit.

The value in a Trump trade isn't the economic surplus, it's the delta between real and fraudulent value.

The way we were treated at Delaney Hall is almost unbelievable. ICE shoved me, manhandled @repbonnie.bsky.social, and arrested Mayor Baraka.

They disrespected us and tried to stop us from conducting the oversight we’re elected to do. But we’ll never back down in our fight for what is right.

I love that my car uses buttons and requires twisting a physical key to turn it on and off. Honestly, I feel like half the tech put into new stuff is just cosmetic trend-chasing or certain people feeling the need to justify their jobs by creating redundant upgrades. I'm not a tech person, so IDK 🤷‍♂️.

Liberal: let's make space in society for just about everybody to do their own thing

Post-liberal: ah, but you are allowing many conflicting ideas to coexist—you must believe in nothing! weak rootless cosmopolitan, can't take your own side in a fight!

Liberal: okay, but not that guy

We often say Trump is unamerican because of his rejection of the diversity that makes us great, but he’s also a disgrace just by the standards of the revolutionary generation; many of the grievances in the Declaration apply to him, and Jefferson, Madison, and Hamilton would’ve hated his ass.

I have been advocating states rights from a Liberal perspective for years. Glad to see it getting some mainstream traction.

I wish people would stop saying things like "the children of an undocumented immigrant, who are US citizens". It centers everything on the parent's immigration status. Just say American kids.

American kids are having their parents ripped away by the government and it's a disaster. 1/
