Sketch is inspired by a scene from her hagiography where the Pagan her parents forced her to marry was convinced to respect her vow of chastity on their wedding night and convert to Christianity by the sight of an angel crowning her with lilies and roses. Baptism curing barbarism is a common propaganda theme in these stories, but I've known plenty of Christians who wouldn't take 'no' for an answer even if an angel appeared. As an aroace person whose taken vows of chastity/celibacy I feel a connection to the Virgin martyrs. A shared experience of how lack of sexual attraction or desire is villified while you're alive, and venerated when you die. How we are expected to gracefully suffer martyrdom while predatory perverts suffer little to no consequences. When I read stories like hers my heart aches for how "No." is so rarely enough to be respected and is instead seen as a challenge, negotiation or insult.

A couple days after this piece was published, I went to my local TDOR. I had lost a local friend that year to suicide and they were going to honor her that night.

The small gathering was touching. I cried through my friend's commemoration and choked up each time one of the women I wrote about...

Turns out I don't need a womb to do witchcraft~✨️🏥 Gender-affirming care saves lives. I won't get too much into the gorey details, but basically we found out that scar tissue was fusing my organs together. Two phrases that keep ringing in my mind are: "...legitimate disease." and "Glad we had the robot." Recovery is going great. I feel like a piece of vellum scraped and ready for Illumination. I also feel so incredibly loved. My partner, chosen family and others in my life make it very hard for me to believe the voices that say I am a creature unworthy of care. 💖

it can't be emphasized enough that The Satanic Temple's reaction to widespread misinformation crediting TST with work they weren't actually doing was
a) lean into the rumor
b) try to siphon money to TST while
c) taking credit for *other* people donating to food banks in TST's name

Been working on glitch art to try and show what I see while seiðing.

Sometimes it's loud when I'm seiðing near Valhöll. There's drums, beating through the ground like a frenzying pulse. Steel and shield clashing together with thundering death-rattle. Other times it's quiet except for carrion calls carried by fog. Hidden between there and Hel is a red dirt path. The red's stain fades with time... ...but can be washed off at a spring split between Tears Shed and Tears Wiped. There are many disagreements about which is which, though they flow from the same source.
