I thought comic collectors would make great advocates for a visual library due to their appreciation of graphic arts & entertainment

Sadly Patton #Oswalt, who's great at everything comic, never responded to my attempts at engagement via email or social media

His Bluesky imitator did want to chat!

First attempts to enlist #Flea s #SCM public benefit org to pass along suggestions on how to improve the #KPL site went unanswered

Disappointingly, Micheal #Maltzan, the library's architect ignored entreaties for an introduction

The assistance of the cream of comic book collectors was also sought

Attempts to briefly engage w/ #Flea of #RHCP re: the best disposition of his architectural wonderland preserve will end before the planned 9-9 #KPL STEM+A&E visual library opening

It's not yet too late for a hero he knows to show him the best use of a heptagon home for his & our society's future

As always, it was a treat to hang out with 270 pals for a screening of one of my movies at @vidiots.bsky.social! Tonight, that movie was Gremlins 2: The New Batch, on a 35mm print!! I was accompanied by a special guest for my Q&A.

Me, on the Universal Studios Hollywood backlot tram tour in 1969, after touring a soundstage and the Alfred Hitchcock bungalow. Spacecraft on the hill may have been from the 1968 film, “Countdown” or “Land of the Giants” TV show. BTW, that’s a faux turtleneck I’m wearing—still, groovy nonetheless.

It's technically a "young adult" title, but like all good YA, there's a great deal of subtlety in the execution and sharp behavioral observation that should interest older readers as well.

Remember when BARBIE came out and there were months of online discourse about it and then you went and saw BARBIE and it was an excellent, funny, well-made film?

SUPERMAN is an excellent, funny, well-made film.

Fun fact: The original Silver Age Legion stories were set in the "distant future" of the 21st Century. (I could use that "futuristic" Autograph Pen myself at convention!)

Where previous Superman films have struggled to make the case for his exceptionality, the latest rendition of the hero finds a deft solution: It makes him just another guy in a cape. David Sims writes: https://theatln.tc/3U7Ymb3q

Wait til you see her in the Egg & I w/ first appearance of the Kettle clan and Fred MacMurray doing an early Oliver Douglas
I can buy Henry Fonda as an earthy homesteader, with his flat, practical voice.
Claudette Colbert though, sounds like she wants chilled champagne and brie.
