While the governor's support of a Millionaires Tax is an exciting move for WA's budget & tax code in the long term, we also need lawmakers to enact progressive revenue solutions now. What we DON’T need? Additional harmful cuts to the programs that help our communities thrive. Read more. #WaLeg

#WaLeg House & Senate held public hearings earlier this wk on outgoing Gov. Inslee’s proposed budget. As the budget’s developed, we're urging lawmakers to enact progressive revenue policies that support a sustainable long-term budget + reject cuts, which fail to address systemic funding issues

It’s genuinely shocking if you’re remotely familiar with the basic facts of trans care and youth medicine.

It is *profoundly* difficult to access gender-affirming care as a minor and the Times has printed more than a dozen articles implying that it is too easy.
in hindsight the NYT anti-trans crusade is one of the most despicable things that any big time journalism outfit in this country has ever done. a perfect and clearly intentional layup for the fascists on the Supreme Court

This makes more sense when consider how much Morales was targeted, both personally and politically, by some of her colleagues. During this budget cycle, 44% of her amendments were rejected. Meanwhile, the council only rejected 4% of the amendments proposed by the other 8 council members.
