Geeky UK trans woman trying to work out her place in the world. A fairly well-balanced pile of contradictions. Likely to be as rubbish posting on here as I was on X.

Well, yes, because it will be unlawful.

Mary-Ann Stephenson assumes - either from ignorance or malice - that trans people have no legal rights as trans. That is deeply troubling from someone holding her role - although hardly surprising given her history.

Awful - and hopelessly out of her depth (just as two Select Committees concluded).

I've cancelled my licence fee direct debit - the law requires I pay it and I expect eventually I shall. But I'll make it as expensive as I can for them to collect. Let me contribute as little as possible to what it costs the BBC to spread its transphobic poison.
Very sad that I felt I had no choice but to resign from The Infinite Monkey Cage - a victory for the transphobes and other bigots - I did it because so much of the media has chosen to believe the kind and empathetic people are a fiction - they are real and so often unrepresented.

The Express is furious about this because the moment you show those who repeat anti-immigration rhetoric the real human stories their narrative collapses.

The “immigrants” are people. Our friends, colleagues and family.

And it’s this nation of neighbours that is what makes Britain great.

So trans kids are banned from

- receiving appropriate healthcare
- using the right toilets at school
- (context-specific) having their name and pronouns respected
- playing sport
- joining the Girl Guides

It’s all deliberate. The ghouls at Sex Matters think they can *force* trans kids to be cis.

Transphobes are harming children. The “Supreme” Court is harming children.
The EHRC is harming children.
The government is harming children.

Children.
Trans children denied participation in society because of the Supreme Court and EHRC. To attack us adults is one thing but to attack children is another. The UK needs to lose its GANHRI A accreditation.

Every dollar JK Rowling makes from Harry Potter is going into bankrolling an extortion racket issuing legal threats to organizations across the UK to purge themselves of trans people or face ruinous lawfare.
i hope every single person who still buys harry potter merch or engages with that franchise is happy that they're literally making girl guides cry

girl guides uk have been forced very much against their will to exclude trans girls. full statement is here: www.girlguiding.org.uk/information-...
