Once described as the greatest man never to become prime minister, Bill Hayden surrendered a shot at the top job for the sake of Labor Party unity.

When I was little my Papa made this tonic which was lots of home grown garlic & chilli in brandy. We had to drink a spoonful when we were sick. I'm not sure if it worked just because we didn't complain so we didn't have to drink it or if it actually worked. He was Romanian, garlic for everything

What is common knowledge in your field, but shocks outsiders?

Some of the most expensive private schools have massively disorganized curricula and sometimes don’t even have their units of work written until a week after term commences.

I'm so disappointed with Australia for voting NO to changing the constitution. Not acknowledging indigenous ppl & rejecting the proposed Voice to Parliament. I had been hopeful the Australia had grown up & left behind its racist past. Obviously it hasn't & we should be called out & ashamed about it!

Esther's words are so insightful &decent. We are all people with mother, fathers, sister & brothers & possibly we have our own childrena well. The whole conflict is incredibly nuanced and it would be a Fools gamete take one side. The is atrrocity, pain and blood on many ppls hand. Gve peace ✌️ chance

Gorgeous
This floor is entirely flat, a remarkable 17th-century optical illusion of Florence Cathedral's marble tiles. When seen from above, the intricate geometry creates the illusion of a giant abyss that people might stumble into. The red/white/black and green marble floor took 160 years to complete.

Social scientists need to talk more abt power.

We who are obsessed w/ the psychology of human behavior must more frequently contend with the workings of power and status and hierarchy in our work.

Far too often, these concepts are absent from our theorizing, and that’s too bad. Let’s do better.
