With all this awful news going on i wanna ask this question once again to fellow artists and general creatives. What got YOU into art? what sparked that motivation to start writing? what made you wanna pick up a camera and start taking pics? Like share with us your reasons.

my parents used to have to buy calling cards to call family in Mexico. the cards all had nonsensical rates that changed all the time. sometimes it could be as bad as a dollar a minute. and that was the case my whole life up til whatsapp started gaining traction in Mexico in the early 2010s
Tangential, but no one under 40 will ever understand what a big deal long distance phone calls used to be. Expensive in the US and a genuine ordeal for overseas. As late as 1986, ATT could only handle 25 US-UK phone calls simultaneously. 25!

also you can “turn AI features off”
you so often can’t. in so many different programs and websites with AI “features” there’s no way to disable the feature. at all. they just didn’t add in a “turn it off” button.
this also applies apparently to an F1 game that was put into Confluence

i broke a monthslong “i’m scared of my sketchbook” and picked it up again. literally just to draw a lil thumbnail sketch of an xbox controller, but it’s the first time i’ve picked up a pencil in months so we take those wins.

when i was a kid i would get constant ads on Disney Channel about the Lion King on Broadway, and kinda glossed over them bc im never gonna have Broadway money anyways. i never went to the theater growing up, and kinda forget its an option

today’s been a very mixed day. i went to the new Light Rail station launch to photograph the event. i woke up way too late and missed half of it, but also this event was way less of a whole deal. way fewer people, way fewer booths, fewer photo ops.
and that’s before the weather turned.

FIFA is a joke. It is supposed to represent players and fans of the beautiful game, but it is corrupt organization run by a Trump sycophant. The World Cup should bring together the world in joy and celebration. Instead, FIFA is going out of its way to worship at the alter of authoritarianism.
