These four buttons from the 1780s represent fashionable regional dress - the similarly posed women in pink and green are French, while the woman in red is Turkish and the woman in green and red is Dutch. 🗃️🪡

All of a swirl, sapphire blue velvet spins from the neck down, incorporating starbursts of ombré embroidery for celestial effect. It is a #1930s evening coat to fasten over a much skimpier and chillier evening dress. Sold via Augusta Auctions #FashionHistory 🗃️🪡
