Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion programs have been a hot button political issue for years, but why? In a piece for The Big Picture, Amelia Mavis Christnot used the lens of her own Ivy League education to dig into why DEI matters and why the right is so afraid of it.
Why The Right Fears Diversity, Equity And Inclusion
There are unqualified people getting a leg up—just not the people conservatives are whining about.

So I love Bluesky 🦋

One of my New Year’s resolutions is to find social media alternatives like Bluesky for anything owned by Meta. Any recommendations out there?

One of my immediate thoughts about HBO not renewing Sesame Street is that we live in a moment where being kind is an inherently political act.

Been thinking about Sesame Street.

As much as I love the Street and want to fight for it, it seems to have lost its way. The show needed more money so it left the public television concept. Now its savior, a capitalist streaming service, is its killer.

Art is actual magic, whether observing it or creating it.
Art class should never stop being a thing. Like if right after lunch we all got to go down to the basement for an hour, throw on a smock, and make collages out of old magazines while somebody's eccentric, slightly witchy aunt tells us how great we're doing, I feel like we'd all be in a better place.

Americans saw this amazing woman and decided to vote for a convicted felon who wants to give tax cuts to billionaires and will cut Medicare, Social Security, education funding, and housing assistance to pay for it.

Just so we’re clear -
Any party telling you who you can love, what gender you are, which medicine you can take, which books you can read, which history you can learn, what prayers you should pray and what you can and cannot do with your own body, doesn’t give a fuck about freedom.
