THREAD.

3 years ago, with no warning, a brilliant orange farm cat wandered over from the draughty barn where he had been living, in rural Cornwall, and decided he wanted to live with us instead.

We decided to call him Jim.

This is the first photo I took of him, on that night: December 1st, 2022.

We're staying in a 17th century monastery inside the ramparts of Old Quebec City, way up on the fortified hill. I shit you not. Mind=blown. The beauty of this place

This is Annie. She is a dental therapy dog. Her job is to help patients experiencing anxiety by providing emotional support. While dentists go through years of schooling to treat patients Annie is able to lower their blood pressure and reduce anxiety just by being there. 14/10 (TT: funny.bunny9215)

The Merlin birding app (Cornell University)can only identify 14% of the bird noises it is hearing in my sister's garden. More Australian birders should be contributing identifications to this free public database ☺️

I am dog-sitting my sister's 1yo chihuahua, Jasper. She lives in Noojee, and has a little house on the edge of the forest. Garden is abundant and chock full of tiny curious birds. View across the valley is gorgeous. I have a coffee in hand and a small sleeping warm dog on my lap. I am at peace.

End of week 2 of 22 weeks of work burnout-based long service leave. I am 55 years old. In my early 30s I was very nearly alcoholic. I am having a lovely time. I am wondering if one (1) bottle of champagne entirely to myself per week is... ok

Somehow, simultaneously, I have a poor sense of object permanence BUT I hate to get rid of things that have meaning to me. As in, I can easily forget for years that I own a thing that I love, so when it comes to e.g. decluttering and getting rid of things I don't use, I find it hard to let go
