This is the best thing you'll see today, and I say that as a person who wrote something awesome today and does not lack for confidence.

Washington is full of rule-following valedictorians who were inspired by the West Wing and did Model UN and moot court and studied their heroes and who believe in using government to help people.

That's nice, but you need to learn how to swing on the illiterate bullies who steal lunch money.

Really good advice. Especially about the utility of small acts… and the ubiquitousness of snitches.

I’d tell people to always remember that some of those snitches are gonna be elected Dems and minstrel people of color. Be aware.
My dad was tortured by the Gestapo for 4 days and thrown in a concentration camp for being in the Norwegian Resistance. Growing up, he would tell me things he learned in the Resistance. I thought, I'm never going to need this stuff. Here's some of those things #Thread

NEW: Leaders of the Sisters of Mercy, an order of nuns, have sent a letter of support to Bishop Mariann Budde.

They say she “spoke faithfully, expressing love and concern for the most vulnerable among us, proclaiming the Gospel in its most clear form” and note “those in power attack truth-tellers.”

it's like AOC is the only person who is expressing an actual emotion here
Four examples of Democratic messaging since yesterday. I know which one I'm supporting. And voting for.

When I hear people talk about deregulation, what I'm really hearing them say is: "any limitation on harming people is a limitation on profits".

When I was in Scotland I met this Scottish Episcopal priest who summed up the SEC's history as "there's about twelve of us because we chose the wrong side in literally every single war, which meant we got made illegal for a bit... But we made The Episcopal Church, and our kids are doing great!"
240 years ago today, Samuel Seabury was consecrated by three Scottish bishops to be the first Bishop of what would become The Episcopal Church. He would go on to help create the first American BCP.

Today, the church celebrates the Bestowal of the American Episcopate.
