I think it's important to remember that Walt Disney hated cars, largely for this exact reason.

Newsletter: I am sick and god damn tired of everybody pretending that generative AI is the next big thing. The media is complicit in accepting fantastical nonsense - both in the numbers put out by OpenAI and the silly jobs created by Anthropic - and it has to stop.

Reality Check
I'm sick and god-damn tired of this! I have written tens of thousands of words about this and still, to this day, people are babbling about the "AI revolution" as the sky rains blood and crevices open...

We are not Imagineers, but we think we’ve found a clever way to squeeze Carsland into Magic Kingdom while keeping the Rivers of America. On our map, the River is shown in blue, available space for Carsland is in red. There may just be enough room tucked beyond Big Thunder to make it work.

The reply email inbox for this “what did you do last week” email is HR@opm.gov, so, you know, definitely don’t send them any unrelated messages that would interfere with their ability to carry out Elon’s dumbass bullshit

Pixar Cars in Frontierland is an idea on par with, "let's make a cruise that doesn't go anywhere."

Even if their recent track record hadn't proved them incapable of creating anything good, I'd still be skeptical about the proposed changes to Rivers of America.

From Steamboat Willie in 1928 until the mid 1960s, Disney produced around 575 animated shorts. The most recent count I could find lists less than 100 of them available on Disney+

Sharing again: It was recommended that artists “should run EVERY image you post through nightshade: memes, screenshots, food photos, literally everything you can, because they WILL be scraped and every time they are, it [messes] the dataset up a bit more”

Nightshade, the free tool that ‘poisons’ AI models, is now available for artists to use
The tool's creators are seeking to make it so that AI model developers must pay artists to train on data from them that is uncorrupted.

Perhaps no single view exemplifies Disney's decline in quality and respect for their audience as this view of Tomorrowland from the Contemporary Resort.

Old imagineering cared enough to theme Space Mountain everywhere a guest could see it. New Imagineering has unthemed show building clearly visible
