Today I'm walking out with my colleagues, friends, and supervisors from Wageningen University and Research to protest the Dutch government's proposed 1.1 billion Euro cut to higher education. In a time of global crisis, this is unacceptable. We need policy that prioritizes the future.

They are trying to get rid of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) as quickly as possible, but there's still time left for dissent! Go to the Federal Register and tell them exactly what you think of them compromising the future.

To go along with our piece today, we published an extensive list of folks associated with DOGE. It builds off and adds to the strong work that Wired, WaPo, ProPublica and other pubs have been doing.

The public has a right to know who is dismantling the government.

This article is a little old, but I need to make the point that if you're someone who claims to care about sustainability and/or social justice, you should not be using AI. Period. Ever. Leaving aside ethical questions about how these models are trained, their physical resource use is unacceptable.

Really nice primer on the connection between systems thinking and co-design!
🌍 Systems thinking & design: Moving beyond quick fixes

Too often, we tackle challenges with isolated solutions—complex problems need systemic approaches.

Now offering my free online workshop “How *not* to use ChatGPT for fun and profit.” Here’s the outline:

1. ChatGPT is bullshitting you.

2. Yes, more than you already think.

3. Yes, it’s getting worse, not better.

4. Only a fool willingly adds more bullshit to their life.

5. Don’t be a fool.

Ronald Reagan had them removed.

We may be able to trace back the current "Do Harmful Things if it Trolls the Libs" Republicanism to Reagan removing those panels the far more forward thinking Carter had installed.
