The thing is journalists should constantly be thinking deeply and carefully about their word choices, especially dehumanizing language, and questioning why they use what they use and who benefits from it. The arrogance from the reporter is frankly embarrassing.

Dismantling the Institutional Review Board (IRB), that oversees all human subjects research, is bad. Really bad.
The entire HR department at the CDC is gone. Everyone at the IRB, which makes sure studies are conducted ethically and rigorously, and the ethics office, which oversee conflicts of interest for CDC leaders and advisory committee members, were also let go.

If you can't be bothered to read, why are trying to be a scientist. Baffling...
Reading papers is a basic skill (and dare I say duty?) of scientists, and I include medical doctors in that group. Keeping abreast of the literature is a foundational part of our professions. There aren’t good shortcuts. In any case, reading papers regularly is fun.

Looking pretty grim out there :-(.
The psych job market may not be dead... but it is gravely injured 😬 So far it's looking like the Trump administration's attacks on higher ed/research are going to have more than 2x the impact on the job market as the covid-19 pandemic. #psychjobs #neurojobs #academicjobs

Yesterday was the first day of school for my last year as a student at Miami University. As I'm working on job apps, it hasn't quite hit me yet. It has been a wonderful experience, and I know I will miss this place when it's time to leave. Luckily, learning will continue even after I graduate 🌈

I am sounding the alarm on the real crisis we face today.

Donald Trump’s overreach is what our founders warned against – it is unprecedented, unwarranted, and un-American.

There’s no emergency here that calls for military intervention.

Stunning. May was brutal for Trump in federal court: 96% loss rate ⚖️. Even GOP-appointed judges have ruled against the admin 72% of the time. District courts are doing their job defending the Constitution. Soon the Supreme Court may be the only court unwilling to defend the rule of law.
