Shutting down the government is a big deal. People have been hurt in big ways as a result of the decision. To have that suffering be for nothing—to re-open the government without actually having protected people’s health insurance and economic well-being—is unconscionable.

This is horrible news. Teen vogue was really bucking the trend and covering things as they are. I hate to see such good journalists sidelined, especially these days.
I was laid off from Teen Vogue today along with multiple other staffers, and today is my last day.
certainly more to come from me when the dust has settled more, but to my knowledge, after today, there will be no politics staffers at Teen Vogue.

Small correction: The Exponent *offered* to print the banned issue, but the IDS students were afraid that would get them punished/sanctioned. So instead, the issue that The Exponent printed and delivered is a new, special solidarity issue co-written by students from both presses!

Printing presses kept their letters in cases.
Capital letters went in the upper case.
Smaller letters went in the lower case.
This is why we say ‘UPPER CASE’ and ‘lower case.’

I wish I could say that this state behavior is unusual. It is not. The system HATES admitting mistakes
damn, these men were exonerated and the state is now continuing to hold them and block their release. it’s almost like justice isn’t the actual point of the system.
