#EdTravCyc Ferry Road path behind Leonardo down to less than 30cm in places where they've pushed the temporary fence back out without leaving enough space to pass. No way anything other than a narrow standard cycle can get past there without going on the (squelchy, muddy) grass...

Does anyone know if there needs to be some sort of risk assessment on this? Sending thousands of cyclists around Crewe Toll, and with only two days notice, is absolutely insane.

Let's not get excited - what's the wait time going to be like at rush hour?

I raised this at Transport Committee today. Officers are checking with colleagues in signals and will report back. They did agree that 10 min wait "seems excessive" 🙄

Q: Cllr @chasbooth.bsky.social says new left turn #ElmRow --> #LondonRoad reported to cause long delays (up to 10 mins!) to 🚶👩‍🦼🚲crossing

A: Officer surprised if so but will investigate & report to ward councillors

I can't imagine how frustrating this stuff is if you're blind, disabled, got kids and so on. 10 minutes! And to think pedestrians are top of the hierarchy. Empty rhetoric.

Good effort - I'm going to pop up there tomorrow to do some proper timings on Picardy Place.

What's a bit sad is my life has measurably improved because I no longer have to deal with the frustration of Leith Walk. I actively avoid it via Easter Road.

It's nice for a wee shopping trip (walking) at the weekend but otherwise...

They've resolved the motor vehicle issue by making pedestrians take 30 mins to get through the endless series of junctions and crossings. Success, I guess.

Not my commute anymore so I'm out of touch on just how bad this and Elm Row are now.

...and a HGV on zig zags.

Followed by a wait at the Omni car park entrance...

Over that period there have been around 5,000 road traffic casualties in and around Edinburgh, including 60 fatalities.

The difference in risk-tolerance is pretty stark.

There isn't any evidence that the report you make on the council website actually goes anywhere.

They do collect the home address of the driver however, for the penalty notice enforcement. That was vaguely interesting because a large chunk of illegal parking is done by people who don't live in Edinburgh.

From the car models, the find is just the cost of doing business in a lot of cases.
