I had to call 999 for an ambulance today, to attend an older person who was lying in the road after a bad fall from her bicycle. Freezing cold, suspected broken leg, in lots of pain. 3 hour wait. Unbelievable.

He has bankrolled elections, stoked riots and ignored laws. We mustn’t make the mistake of playing nice with the world’s richest bully Elon Musk is, more or less, a rogue state. His intentions are self-serving and nefarious, and his nation-state level…

If the US ban TikTok and the UK think about following suit, it would be so awkward for Nigel Farage because that's where all his followers are...

Is there any chance that the BBC could transmit #BBCQT from Clacton? It's the only way we would get Farage off our screens.

If god is real, and he created everything, then he created the film Bruce Almighty about himself and cast Morgan Freeman as himself.

Looks like a flying helmet… put it on and take off..!
Astounding helmet of a Celtic military chieftain, c. 250-175 BC.

Iron shell crowned with a bronze bird with outstretched wings attached with hinges, which flapped when the wearer moved. Found amongst a warrior chieftain’s grave goods in a tomb at Ciumești, Romania, in 1961. 📷 by me

I’m in favour of assisted dying, but the timing feels off. For me, it’s about getting our ducks in a row. Our health system must come first. Until every cure and prevention is accessible to all, offering this choice feels unethical—especially if better health might mean fewer would need it.

I actually really like Jaguar’s new look. Anyway it the car that matters. The anti-woke brigade just hate a splash of colour.

Replaced the placeholder app (X) which was appropriate really.
Just realised have started to instinctively open this site first when a bit bored, in a queue etc. Sure am not alone. Sign of success…

The verification system using domain names here is neat and works for some, but there needs to be an alternative akin to Twitter pre-Musk. Verification shouldn’t be paid for; it should be policy-based, granted if someone meets specific criteria. 🧵

Could have seen this coming a long way off. Musk is known for being obtrusive in his own companies, imagine if he acts the same way in a place he only *thinks* he is the boss of. Will end in tears.
“He’s behaving as if he’s a co-president and making sure everyone knows it,” one of two people told NBC

This won’t end well

The police have always had a duty to investigate if somebody report something to them. The difference is that these days it's all over social media. It doesn't necessarily mean a lot and if they have broken the law, let due process find them out.
There’s been a fair amount of hyperbole published, tweeted and written about what Essex Police have done re the Pearson story in the last few days. I had the Tory Police Commissioner on my LBC show to explain what’s actually happened, watch here.
