"fully operational mobile McDonald’s unit" is a phrase that makes me feel like maybe i've passed away and all the news i read is all just the final neurons in my brain racing around making haphazard connections in the moments before darkness
As part of the red-carpet treatment, Saudi officials arranged for a fully operational mobile McDonald’s unit to accompany President Trump during his stay.

According to local reports, the unit was set up near the Saudi Royal Court.

Aside from the obvious direct harm, what's so irritating is that a handful of spoiled ignorant assholes are breaking things that we all built together. They weren't content to own almost everything, they had to wreck what little they didn't own. It's vandalism on a mass scale and has to be punished

Peter Marks was a really smart and capable leader, and an incredibly thoughtful regulator. This is terrible news for the industries who work with this center and even worse news for the American public.

I guess with all the other open-air graft going on it's easy to overlook, but the U.S. Commerce Secretary using his official position to go on cable news to tell people to buy the stock of his boss's largest campaign donor is just astonishingly corrupt.
On Jesse Watters’ show, Howard Lutnick, the U.S. Secretary of Commerce, tells viewers they should buy Tesla stock.

“I think if you want to learn something on this show tonight, buy Tesla. It’s unbelievable that this guy’s stock is this cheap. It’ll never be this cheap again.”

I tested it, because it seemed so craven, grotesque, and absurd, but if you put in the original URL it changes to the "DEI" version automatically.

Good morning to everyone who regrets ever carrying water for the mealy-mouthed toadies who run the Democratic Party.

American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.

Happy 30th to King For A Day, Fool For A Lifetime, an album that is perfect because they just took everything we love about Angel Dust - already a pretty maximalist album - and somehow turned it up even higher.
Another set of new/old tunes to enhance your weekend from @ed209.bsky.social and yours truly.

“democrats are fighting” lol
The cruelty of the richest man in the world telling tens of millions of seniors that he wants to “eliminate” their Social Security

That their checks are part of one big scam

Elon Musk is clueless about what it means to rely on that check to buy food and medicine

Democrats are fighting for seniors

The institutional Democratic Party is guided by an almost pathological level of conflict avoidance in almost every direction. “What can we do to make the least number of people mad?” is just a bankrupt way to operate.
