Really should've guessed that the massive AltNPS accounts that post random numbers and then say "general public disregard" and also claim to have 200k+ federal employees in their "resistance movement" with no evident actions, is just a scam.

Selling merch on their website is their goal.

We're once again seeing a conflict that wouldn't be possible without the CIA overthrowing an elected government during the cold war. Iran had its elected government toppled when it tried to nationalize its oil industry. Iran is our baby, the product of Colonialism and Oil Greed.

Quick, who funded ICE between the last Trump administration and the current one?

Anyone?

Not gonna wax poetic about how sad it is that cancer has laid its hand on a warmongering, genocide-supporting career politician. No matter how much better one may seem than the others (and especially compared to Trump), all US politicians are bastards. Even Biden.

Yes, this administration is dangerous and cruel, but they are also shockingly dim and incompetent.

Opportunities are everywhere.

Make everything as hard as possible. Resist every demand. Refuse entry without a warrant. Don’t take the buyout. Their problem solving skills are 📉

They’re banning TikTok not because it harvests data, the same way US social media does, but because they can’t influence it’s algorithm with congressional hearings or government contracts the way they do every other tech giant. That’s it.

Honestly would have been more appropriate for Zuckerberg to have made his announcement yesterday so it was on the anniversary of an event his social media platforms helped foment.

The fascist oligarchy is buying up the Internet, and you can expect to see outrageous attacks on the few institutions like Wikipedia that they can't buy.
Scoop: I obtained a confidential presentation outlining how a major conservative think tanks plans to go after volunteer editors on Wikipedia who it says are "abusing their position" and promoting antisemitism

Scoop: Heritage Foundation plans to ‘identify and target’ Wikipedia editors
The conservative think tank told prospective donors that the project was part of its work to combat antisemitism.

The Equal Rights Amendment has met all the requirements to become the 28th Amendment. All it takes is one stroke of President Biden’s pen.

I’m joining 121 of my colleagues in urging President Biden to #PublishTheERA & protect gender equality in the Constitution!
More than 120 House Democrats send letter to Biden urging him to ratify Equal Rights Amendment
A coalition of more than 100 lawmakers wrote a letter on Sunday urging President Biden to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA), which would outlaw gender discrimination in the Constitution.  “We…

For those that think Paxton's theories of out-of-state jurisdiction are something new and limited to abortion... as is so often the case, we see it used first to target trans people.

Paxton tried to prosecute Seattle Children's Hospital last year the same way.

I broke the filing doc itself.

Does anyone know of a really good guide for automating the creation of PDFs? I have an e-ink tablet and have tried some Day Planner templates for it, and like the idea, but want to create something custom for myself.

If we are not going to use the intelligence we have gathered about Trump's compromised relationship with Putin right now to defend our nation, when are we going to use it? Never?

Make Biden #DeclassifyTrump, so we can force the Congress to #ImpeachTrumpNow.

This. The paywalls are a big reason we're in this mess to begin with. The average person has no clue what's really happening, why, and what can be done about it. They feel like the info isn't written for them anyway, so they gravitate to the free info on the right.
If something is such a critical must read, & important to our democracy, it should not be behind a paywall.

Every now and then I'm like "okay maybe good people pushing back will keep things from being too bad, and after four years, we can recover", and then I see a news headline that's like "Billionaire who makes exploding cars is proposing getting rid of the Consumer Protection Bureau"

Me, reading Don Quixote: "wow, lancing at a windmill? How unproductive. I would never do such a pointless thing!"

Me, reading the dumbest comment I've ever read from someone who apparently lacks comprehension or critical thinking skills and is engaging emotionally: "Where's my lance..."

Bernie's right. Our generation needs to pick up the torch and not just resist this fascist regime, but push for real change. Since our politicians have failed us, we need young voices who will step up and demand change for workers in this country, and who will get in the ring for us.
Sen. Bernie Sanders goes scorched earth, saying "The Democrats ran a campaign protecting the status quo and tinkering around the edges" and that its leadership "are much too wedded to the billionaires and corporate interests that fund their campaigns."

Recently discovered that "Lord willin' and the creek don't rise" immediately outs me as a Southerner, even for people who don't notice my slight accent.

And my favorite twist on that phrase, "Inshallah and the creek don't rise", raises as many eyebrows here as it did back home lmao
