I’m a Christian, and my faith is the most important aspect of my life. In no way does Sikh or Muslim or Jewish clergy or anyone else of a different faith leading our Congress in prayer constitute a threat to my faith. The truth is that Rep. Mary Miller isn’t secure in her faith.

This is absolutely terrible news.

With the shifting regulatory climate (i.e., antivax ratfuckery), Moderna has withdrawn their application for their eagerly anticipated COVID-flu combo vaccine. This vaccine offered better protection than getting each shot separately.

I enjoyed the conversation with Jordan Klepper on tonight’s show but think there is a key element of the conversation missing and that has to do with social media algorithms and filter bubbles

I’ve never been a big fan of TSA. However, I fully support TSOs being paid on the General Scale and I support them having a Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Going back to privatized airport security is not the answer.

We're told the FDA is now making plans to end most of its routine food safety inspections

That oversight work would be effectively outsourced to state and local authorities, under this plan

Listen I save “I told you so” exclusively for my sister but in this case I don’t even need to say it because they told you so themselves. They told everyone this was the plan during the campaign.
I’m so sick of hearing Trump voters didn’t vote for this. This is exactly what they voted for.

Assigning Sen. Thurmond’s “longest filibuster” of the Civil Rights Act to the dustbin of history is a powerful part of the story.

Because no matter what, that’s where they’re all going, no matter how hard they fight it. Men who fight the future are the most foolish of all men.
Cory Booker will break the record for longest Senate floor speech at 7:19 PM EDT. Fewer than 2 hours from now. The record is held by Strom Thurmond, who was arguing for segregation. GO CORY, GO!

Authoritarians depend on you obeying in advance and not resisting. Every act of disruption weakens them and slows down their plan. It's a crack. The cracks add up. This is why what Cory Booker is doing is important compared to the weak complicity of Schumer and others.
