Complemented my boss’ pretty new bob. Her face fell, she said she’d been feeling insecure about it. She said that her kids had told her it was a Karen haircut, and then when she told them that was mean they said she was acting like a Karen too. Teenagers are such dicks sometimes.

This is the most obvious thing I’ve ever said in a post, but renters are citizens of a city. Full citizens. Because of course they are. Anyone who suggests otherwise isn’t just clueless about the affordability struggles that cities face — they’re clueless about the essential reality of cities.
More than two thirds of New Yorkers are tenants. Andrew Cuomo compared them to hotel guests.
We need a Mayor who will bring our city together around an agenda to lower costs for everyone, whether they rent or own.

Awful news to report: a scooter rider was hit about an hour ago on the seawall detour outside Science World. The City stated they chose a less safe route for the detour, crossing the Science World parking lot entrance, because they wanted to preserve more parking. 1/2

I’m seeing lots of people with quite doomy posts today and it’s illuminating that my panic threshold has elevated quite high in the last ~60 days. I didn’t see anything abnormal in the news cycle. What happened?!

The power was out on my block only for about 15 hours. So far as we can tell there’s been minimal spoilage but there’s little more heartbreaking than dumping a sealed feta cheese down the garburator (just bought 😩)

Conservative attack ad on Carney just ran during the 🥌 Brier and the sound bites were so poorly cut they felt like autotune. “Sneaky…?” just floating in air. Like ok kids, you keep trying.

The Dow Jones has been tanking today but it’s on a little bit of an upswing at this moment, correlated almost directly to PMJT’s address, time-wise. It’s probably not related at all, but funny nonetheless.

I’ve never tried pre-workout but I hadn’t eaten breakfast before personal training so I figured I would order it in my smoothie to check it out. What I actually ordered was just a cup of pre-workout in some water. Like an idiot, I drank it anyway (again, on an empty stomach).
