Listening to this album tonight. It seems like an homage to the 1970s Japanese jazz greats like Ryo Fukui or Toshiko Akiyoshi. Good listening for sure!

I heard a rock DJ on late night FM say he didn’t like jazz and never understood it. I immediately made a face of disgust and changed the radio station.

The music industry should be demystified.

Here you go.

Before I get into it. Know that I’m a musician and encourage everyone to play music, perform music and work at becoming financially successful. I just want to point out realities that we all choose to ignore because it’s a painful truth.

Meme music history is often wrong. There are a lot of half truths or facts based on out of context interview clips or rumors.

Thanks you for being a member of the working class who has invested what little free time you have into music

This post is for if you’re neurodivergent.

I saw a post that most institutional learning facilities that focus on a creative discipline, do so from a very neurotypical perspective.

This causes a number of issues for the neurodivergent creative such as:

I picked tracks for this album with the hope that other musicians would sample or reuse these instrumentals. The album is available for free ✌️

Last September I made the decision to move back to Southern California and although it uprooted the security I had built for myself in my 20s I don’t regret my decision.

I’ll probably be busting my ass until I’m 35 to pay everything off but it beats feeling stagnant in a mid sized city.

I’m not Christian nor did I grow up with any Christian influence but I loved Veggie Tales as a kid. Had no idea it was religious until much later.

I like the lack of engagement on Bluesky. It lets us humans actually interact with each other.

Had a 2 hour conversation with some family members who were not seeing eye to eye. After the conversation both parties stepped away feeling heard and validated.

If you’re a “numbers” musician, you need 15 million streams per year to make a little over $40k USD per year

As this music community on Bluesky grows I’d love to see more friendly competitions and contests. I always enjoyed that on the old bird app. I never won any but I had fun with the challenges.

I make music, I listen to a lot of music.

Growing up my mom had probably 500+ CDs. I listened to all of it and eventually starting getting into bands and genres she didn’t listen to.

By the time I was in high school we would talk music and it helped with my knowledge of musicology big time.

Who is Breaking Rust? For the first time, an AI country singer tops Billboard chart
Breaking Rust, a new artist on the scene, is topping charts ... but he's not a real person. He's a computer-generated outlaw blues-country singer.

With the revival of emo/scene culture the youth are missing a big part of it.

You have to go to the Apple Store and take filtered photos and then upload it to your socials using that same device.

My musical plans for 2026 are to start making emotion driven music again. I think I needed to compose in a very structured, logical fashion but that was to learn my DAW and understand songwriting better.
