Maybe only seeing it on shirts or from a distance. They just look like space ships. The realization comes when you’re finally holding the album or looking at cover art digitally.

I’m 31 so punk rock was a distant memory for most when I was coming up. My high school only had a metal scene so I kicked it with guys who were into thrash/death metal.

The old guys back then taught us pit etiquette and told us about all the 60s/70s bands we’d never heard of. 🤘

Metal guys are either the most kind open minded people or angry gate keeping curmudgeons. There’s no in between 😆

Definitely! I love musicians who use their own platform to lift up a smaller artist that they’re genuinely passionate about. The old punk and hardcore bands are great about that.

I sure would love if Kurt Cobain, Chris Cornell, Bradley Nowell, Scott Weiland, Layne Staley, Shannon Hoon, and all those other talented MF’s could still be writing music.

My gripe with Presidents’ Day is that it used to be two holidays. I feel like a crazy person when I bring it up. There was Washington Day and Lincoln Day and they were two separate holidays, yet only Washington was federal.

It was the Washington-Lincoln day in California until 2009.
