That’s a “directional defeat”… not just about the 90 minutes but about what the performance says what we’re trying to do and how well we’re doing it. Sadly, our weaknesses have become easy to exploit and our strengths, such as they are, easy to nullify. Can’t see this getting better. #lufc

Farke has made a few strange decisions there but ultimately that squad is always going to be one of the worst in the league. Poor recruitment is going to kill us.

I’ve got a bad feeling that this is Farke making the same mistake he did against Arsenal when he kept a winning team. Should have been Stach for Tanaka imo.

It’s incompetence isn’t it. Despite having months of planning we’ve got an attack that really isn’t that much stronger than the one we ended last season with. #lufc

Happy with that. Competitive, showed the right attitude and had opportunities. Clear we need a bit more going forward but still showed enough that we’re not going to be push overs. #lufc

Just reflecting on last night. I suppose there’s no need to be overly concerned but if we have to rely much on Aaronson or Byram this season we’re in trouble. We also desperately need another creative offensive player. #lufc

This team has been genuinely impressive if you take the season as a whole. Without being perfect Farke has been a very good manager and recruitment is a world away from the previous regime.

Exactly this. Farke has caused his own problems here. A much better balanced squad than last season with very talented (for this level) players not getting a game. Now his players are either tired or not match ready.
Unless Gnonto's felt something in the ankle he injured recently, I'll wager Farke explains Aaronson pick by saying Willy not featuring regularly means he isn't ready to start twice in 4 days. That's a result of mins he's chosen to give him since New Year, though. #lufc
