Arcane facts, dubious insights and unjustly confident opinions on Leeds United Football Club.
I think we're capable of a point per game from here... but the fixture still looks tricky, especially in February. Another win on the road would be good for morale.

37-38 ought to be enough… 4 more wins.

… and win well. Want some demoralisation.
January 17, 2026 at 5:43 PM
Yeah, it’s definitely not a case of 26 points keeps you up this season… need 37-38 to be sure?

We now have the same number of wins and points as Leicester, who finished in the last relegation spot, managed all last season… #lufc
Ah, man… that is huge! Well deserved in the end, too. After a nip-tuck first half, I thought we put the squeeze on after the break, won the second balls and started creating chances. Aaronson outstanding again; love how he’s managed to turn busyness into purpose. Redemption for Gabi, too. #lufc

I’m still looking down until the maths tell me it’s done… but no doubt a few teams above us are shifting a little uneasily in their seats.

Could have done without West Ham’s winner, mind… but doesn’t change much. Same gap, one fewer game to play.

Want Gnonto on… and maybe a quick look at Buonanotte.

Enjoyable half, that. Fulham have nimble, mobile midfielders finding pockets of space… we have a decent press and plenty of snap in the tackle. Aaronson having another good game, although he did waste the chance of the half. Coin toss, this. #lufc

He’s up there… his stint at Stoke has brought the average down a bit.

Less than half his career total has been as a loan player... last couple of years with us have evened that out. Can't believe he's only 25.
January 16, 2026 at 7:50 AM
Yeah, he had three full seasons on loan with us... after a spell on loan at Boro. Then he's just completed 2 years on loan at Everton. So, in England, it's basically 2.5 seasons out of 8.5 playing for his parent club.

Random thought: Are there any other players who have played a higher percentage of their football career on loan than Jack Harrison? Must be getting on for two-thirds of his first-team appearances have been for clubs other than the one who owns him... #lufc

We seemed destined to sign anyone at Sheff United or Burnley who had a decent season…

Just before my time... but understand he never quite settled. Although it was a *very* functional team he was trying to enrich.

By the way, loved @berencross.bsky.social’s “hypothetical” question to Farke about signing a player who had previously turned him down at the 11th hour. You know, not relating to anyone in particular… #lufc

A horrible transfer, that… was great at Swansea from what I remember.

Yeah, gives us a talented option at the top of the pitch. Hope there's another surprise up our sleeve... perfect time for another injection of confidence.

Will be our fourth Argentinian by my count... after Sabella, Becchio and Bessone. #lufc
Five months later than first hoped, Leeds United are close to finalising a loan deal for Facundo Buonanotte. The 21-year-old's head was turned by Chelsea last August, while his Leeds-bound plane idled on the runway.

Significant reinforcement in the final third. The left-footer they wanted. #lufc
Leeds close to completing Facundo Buonanotte loan from Brighton
The proposed deal would see the attacking midfielder's Chelsea loan ended early to allow his move to Elland Road.

... although the pic you posted does exaggerate the difference a bit.

Hasn't played for Brighton this season, just Chelsea. Elliott made one sub appearance for Liverpool pre-Villa.

Clear difference in stature... I think it was John Sadler who described him as a "big bear of a man".

Don was a good half a foot taller than Billy, surely...? 5.11/6ft to 5.5in?
