A good piece from @theguardian.com — and here is the thing: ARTISTS and PHOTOGRAPHERS are right here, willing to help aid agencies with images. And they won’t suck up the world’s water supply while doing it. And they can help stop the BS stereotyping and poverty porn.
AI-generated images of extreme poverty, children and sexual violence survivors are flooding stock photo sites and increasingly being used by leading health NGOs, according to global health professionals who have voiced concern over a new era of “poverty porn”.

It's just been confirmed that Monash University is dropping Woodside as a partner because they don't align with their sustainable values. This is an incredible win for @stopwoodsidemonash.bsky.social who have run a dedicated grass roots campaign for years.

At that point in writing where setup is done, everything is getting to the pointy end of the story where is 'just needs to be written.'
Also at that point where 'I need a new brain to finish' plea to the gods is kicking in because nothing I'm writing seems right.
Maybe a week off?

Absolutely WILD that the development of sofrware proceeded with so little heed to record-keeping that 52 year old source code is a major archaeological trove that requires special tools to gain access to, like it's a treasure room in a sealed royal tomb from 3500 years ago.
