one lesser awful thing about the Epstein files is that genuine crimes against a huge number of children are being morphed into fuel for the influencer industrial complex who don't care about truth or accuracy and just want grist for the content mills

Gods damnit, every time I think I won’t be impressed by yet *another cover* of a lifelong favourite, @iambrandicarlile.bsky.social does it again.

I know it was a good therapy session when I’m walking around the rest of the day feeling like my skin’s on inside out or my bones have shifted and everything hasn’t settled back into place yet.

I’m feeling a lot of complicated feelings about the ethics of violence and when do we say enough is enough.

I used to be a strong believer in civil disobedience but these days I find myself thinking about Popper’s paradox a lot and humming Spanish Train in my head — how can. 1/2

What if the shooting of a right-wing-extremist yesterday is proof of time travel?

Like maybe someone somewhere in the future took the old question of “if you could go back in time and kill Hitler, should you?” as an actual suggestion.

That moment when you finally get your iced latte and snag a table in the busy coffee shop and pull out your journal ready to soul-dump…

…and your goblin brain explodes in minor panic and intense fury because you brought the wrong fuxking pen for that task.

Every day @markhamillofficial.bsky.social reminds us of what it means to resist corrupt power, eschew the call of the dark side and fight for what’s right.
Every day @stephenking.bsky.social proves he is a really good writer.

This is Tasmania right now.

I am seriously trying to think of a way to set up my life so I can follow the colder seasons all year. #fucksummer #sensoryhell
So it’s been a touch chilly in the central highlands.

Ok, I need #blueskyhelp I want to be here more than other platforms but my feed isn’t nearly as as good a fit for my interests.

I know it’s all algorithms, what’s the best way to shift them to include what I want to be seeing?

Looking for: LGBTQ, ADHD, ND, AuDHD, books, Canadian, trans content

Got called ‘sir’ by the tech at the lab today. First time that’s ever happened in public.

Yes, I was wearing a mask but I always wear one here and have always been called m’am.

So, that’s pretty cool.*

I love that he has the courage to name her and calls out the damage she’s doing.

Actually working on a new writing project.

I finished a very messy draft of one novel mid-pandemic and have barely written any fiction since then.

Like stretching muscles and finding some of the old strength there and how good it feels to flex them again

Trying to work on authenticity and fighting lifelong habits of people pleasing… and somehow I never prepared myself specifically for the fact that this process will inevitably end up with people being “not pleased” with me/what I do.

Seems so obvious when I put it like that… 🤦

#translife That moment when your GPs office calls because a new nurse looked at your bloodwork results and freaks out.

Because they don’t know you’re on gender affirming HRT prescribed by your specialist.

Yeah… those testosterone levels would be somewhat alarming, lol.

Sang with my rainbow choir at a local United Church pride service today and they read this poem.

Thought I might share it for anyone who needs to hear this today.

I am amused/enraged by the fact that Zerhs (our PC/Loblaws store) is flagging items with prices increased due to tariffs.

Coming from folks that have a semi-monopoly on the industry and have been inflating prices, gouging and price fixing for years… that’s some questionable finger pointing, Galen.

Finally carving out space to write again.

Slowly working through kids book ideas about neurodivergence, looking at informational/direct ND discussion as well as including ND-coded characters in other stories.

What would you want to see for littles in books containing #ADHD #autism #AuDHD ?

On the GO Train, heading into T.O. to get my tattoo finally finished and filled in.

Not covering up the past, just replacing what I thought then with what I know now, with who I am now.

This is after the first session, can’t wait to have my buddy all coloured in and complete. #stormhorsetattoo

I know some are going to get upset over this but when I see specific people in the news causing such harm to so many people I can’t help but think, ‘what happened to these men to make them capable of such awful things?’

And my heart aches for the vulnerable little boys they once were.
Something to think about
