One of these days, I will break out my WEG sourcebooks and finally write the “bring the Glove of Darth Vader series into line with the rest of the Nineties Bantam-era EU” fic that’s been bouncing around in my head for years.

Whole thread is worth a read, but damned if this didn’t hit the nail on the head.
As is always the case with this nostalgia crap, "what they took from you" was the feeling of being 12, not any actual thing in the past.

(Also, those 1960s, 1970s cars were deathtraps compared to modern vehicles)

Realised that I’m now treating funny viral videos in the same way footballers celebrate goals —

1) initial joy,
2 sudden panic it might be AI/offside
3) lengthy investigation as joy saps away
4) conclusion, joy modulated through fatigue if proven legit/onside, but angry and gutted if AI/offside

At almost 2,000 years old, this child’s wooden toy sword is a remarkable survival from Roman times!

Found in the living quarters of the cavalry barracks at Vindolanda fort in 2017. Dated c.120 AD. Chesterholm Museum 📷 by me

We Should Have Finished Reconstruction: A Brief History Of American Politics, 1865-2025
yeah, this is hegseth straightforwardly announcing that it is free play time for bigots in the ranks. and together with his comments on standards, he clearly wants to purge as many women, black and brown people as he can from the armed services. a white man's military.
Hegseth: "We are overhauling an inspector general process that has been weaponized, putting complainers and poor performers in the driver seat. We are doing the same with the equal opportunity policies. No more frivolous complaints, no more anonymous complains ... no more walking on eggshells."

The #rwc2025 was amazing. I went into the tournament really only knowing Ilona Maher and Portia Woodman, both from the Olympics. Coming out of it, I’m now just as big a fan of Ellie Kendall, Sophie de Goede, Asia Hogan-Rochester, and Raquel Kochhann.

Can’t wait! C’mon Canada!
It all comes down to this. For three years, the Red Roses have dreamt of this day. Whilst for over a century, Canadian rugby has been building to this. So where is the 2025 Rugby World Cup Final going to be won and lost, and just how big could the impact of this one match be?

I'm still on my Hero Forge kick, but have been replaying "Witcher 3" lately, so here's my take on some of the main characters. From L-R: Yennefer, Ciri, Geralt, Dandelion, and Triss.

I have a love/hate relationship with the 2004 film "King Arthur." On the one hand, it probably ignited my interest in Arthuriana and the historical basis for it. On the other hand, the more I got into the subject, the more ridiculous the movie became. And I just noticed a new piece of ridiculousness

Welp. Apple snuck something dirty in our phones last night.

Settings > Apps > (pick an app) > Siri > Learn From this App

TOGGLE OFF.

You have to go through each app. My garage app, my BANKING APPS, others had that turned on automatically. 😡
