“He made 2.5 million today and he made $900 million. That’s not bad.”

Sounds like market manipulation to me. That’s bad.

Kudos for a solid headline.

Just arrived in Owyhee country, approaching from Succor Creek. Arriving at night, we saw cattle grazing along the road and the silhouettes teasing an exciting dawn. I'm glad to be back in Oregon.

As ever (well particularly now I guess), the greatest assurance we have that government will not be able to pull off/get away with its worst designs is its utter incompetence.

It's seemingly far worse than the headline indicates.

The Trump Administration Accidentally Texted Me Its War Plans
U.S. national-security leaders included me in a group chat about upcoming military strikes in Yemen. I didn’t think it could be real. Then the bombs started falling.

A few of my favorite things.

We are continuously drawn to Moab and our time here is never enough. Watching it change, we fear for what it will become, but as long as the BLM land stays wild and managed as well as it is, I think we'll get along with the growth and popularity of this area just fine.

The Commerce Secretary is promoting a company’s stock on live TV, and not just any company’s - the company owned by a ‘special government employee’ and the president’s biggest donor.

The corruption is the point.
On Jesse Watters’ show, Howard Lutnick, the U.S. Secretary of Commerce, tells viewers they should buy Tesla stock.

“I think if you want to learn something on this show tonight, buy Tesla. It’s unbelievable that this guy’s stock is this cheap. It’ll never be this cheap again.”

Today was all about Ranger. Dude has been so patient with us working and driving a lot. He got hours of his favorite: snow time (we didn't think there'd be snow). Tomorrow he will have to be patient again as we explore Mesa Verde.

It's hard to grasp what these synchronized monuments to human engineering and precision are doing. But watching all 27 of them dance together over a punishing landscape is absolutely worth a trip to the Very Large Array.

Bursts of engagement when your community is online is a terrific form of engagement that is time boxed. No endless scrolling, things need to end for others to begin.

I'm calling my effort to intentionally engage with social media #newsocialorder. I'll be exploring what happens when an average guy like me gets fed up with the status quo of social media and tries to revamp their social to work for them.

Much has been said about this post, but it's also interesting for non-obvious reasons.

His first person language — "my Starlink system" and "if I turned it off" — is extremely telling. We rarely see him speak so plainly about his unilateral power like this.
