Essential reading from terminated members of ACIP in JAMA:

"The termination of all members and its leadership in a single action undermines the committee’s capacity to operate effectively and efficiently, aside from raising questions about competence."

RFK Jr. went on Fox News and lied through his teeth.

He said they weren’t cutting critical research.

Terminated grants so far have included studies on cancer, Alzheimer’s, HIV, and tuberculosis.

Ohio researchers lost funding for kidney disease and TB projects.

This guy doesn’t care about health.

Done. Your turn!
🚨 AIMBE is calling on the biomedical research community to take a minute to send our 3 new advocacy letters urging Congress to:

1. Protect the STEM Training Pipeline (e.g., NIH MOSAIC, T32s, MARC, etc.)

2. Oppose Indirect Cost Caps

3. Support Research Funding in FY2026

Nincompoop head of HHS is at it again
1/ Yesterday, it was announced that RFK Jr. is requiring placebo-controlled studies for new vaccines—potentially delaying this fall’s COVID shots as well as the approval of other vaccines. RFK Jr.’s repeated claims is that vaccines were “never tested against placebos” is simply not true 👇

The possibility that RFK Jr. is going to undermine herd immunity in the United States grows increasingly likely.

This would mean that US will be responsible for starting numerous pandemics and potentially destroying the effectiveness of the entire globe’s vaccine arsenal.

This is bioterrorism.

Do not normalize children dying from measles. Measles was previously eliminated in the US, thanks to vaccines.

When children die from measles, it means that adults have catastrophically failed to protect them because they have rejected basic science.

I have had it up to here with people who complain that NIH-funded research hasn’t made enough progress or contributed enough.

The generations of amazing scientists trained in US programs—who have gone on to work in government, academia, & industry alike—are a priceless return on investment.

Really important piece to share widely. Too many Americans don’t know how severe a threat this Administration poses to our scientific infrastructure, global leadership, and health security

What people in every part of higher education need to understand is that Republicans now want to do to universities what they’ve tried to do to labor unions: erase them from the institutional landscape. The question is how much you want to collaborate in your own destruction.
