Came across this FASCINATING photo NASA took on Mars back in 2001. Was part of almost 90,000 pictures, which is my guess as to why I hadn't heard of it before. Photo shows an area about 3km wide, which would make the structure around 2km/side, and about as thick as the Great Wall of China.
