At the same time the NY Times was hyping Hillary Clinton's emails, it had a reporter with emails from Jeffrey Epstein that were highly damaging to Trump.

The more NYT apologists try to minimize this the clearer it becomes that they don't understand why much of the public doesn't trust legacy media.

There are four leaks to plug for Trump: the survivors, Ghislaine Maxwell, the Epstein Estate, and the 1000+ FBI and DoJ employees he locked in a building and forced to remove his name from the files.

Good luck, asshole.

Chicago's Far South Side devolved into chaos when residents confronted Border Patrol agents who rammed a car to make an arrest.

The feds ultimately used tear gas to flee, despite a Chicago police leader offering to clear a path and warning that cops didn't have gas masks.

This is one of the reasons I said the Cave Caucus should have held out for at least a week, to make it clear Trump was unlawfully starving people.
As predicted in lots of places, including this morning's "One First," the extra 48 hours that the full Court bought for itself on Tuesday (by overriding Justice Jackson and extending her "administrative stay") was enough time for Congress to moot the SNAP case:

I was briefed on the intelligence last week.

Iran posed no imminent threat of attack to the United States. Iran was not close to building a deliverable nuclear weapon. The negotiations Israel scuttled with their strikes held the potential for success.

6/ And this is just a sample. The campaign is relentless and planned.

Democracies don't die in a single moment. You just wake up one day, and the regime has so badly crippled the opposition that they can't compete in elections.

This is where we are heading if we don't wake up.

5/ In a stunning announcement, Trump said that no government contracts would go to companies that employ legal firms that represent Democratic causes, a brazen and illegal attempt to cut off legal support for his opposition and lawsuits against him. www.reuters.com/world/us/us-...

Law firm Paul Weiss said in a court filing on Wednesday that a former executive facing criminal bribery charges has fired it as his defense counsel because of U.S. President Donald Trump's executive order this month targeting the firm.

4/ Now Trump is destroying the infrastructure of the opposition. He is signaling that he is going to shut down ActBlue, which is the primary website that channels grassroots political donations to Democrats.

Of course, WinRed, the Republican equivalent, will be untouched.

3/ Trump put his political fixers in charge of DoJ to hunt his political opposition. For instance, the D.C. U.S. Attorney is trolling critics online threatening arrest and pledging to arrest anyone who "interferes" (not a crime btw) with DOGE. newrepublic.com/post/191087/...

2/ It started with the endorsement of political violence. By pardoning the Jan 6th protesters, Trump sent a clear signal that violence on his behalf would be protected.

Of course this quells citizens' enthusiasm to join the opposition - if there is a chance they could get hurt.

The fight for our democracy is not coming. It is here.

When I say that we have months, not a year, to save democracy, I'm talking about this coordinated, relentless legal assault on political dissent.

1/ Let me explain a few elements of Trump's plan: www.nytimes.com/2025/03/19/u...
With Orders, Investigations and Innuendo, Trump and G.O.P. Aim to Cripple the Left
The president and his allies in Congress are targeting the financial, digital and legal machinery that powers the Democratic Party and much of the progressive political world.

If you’re wondering who The Reformers are…

It’s us.

Normal democrats.
Big tent democrats.
Working democrats. Progressive democrats.

All of us.

And we’re demanding reform… and we’re willing to do the work.

The first order of business is replacing party leadership.
