Whatever they do to immigrants, they will do to us because, Trump's right, it is "no different" to deny human rights to US citizen versus a noncitizen

Disgusting and shameful.
17 people are dead from US strikes in the Caribbean this month and we still don't really know who they are and so far the president and VP have made jokes about scared fishermen.
Trump brags to military leaders about his strikes on boats: "They don't want go fishing. I don't blame them. There will be no fishing today. It's amazing what strength will do."

A popular and very old argument for the value of philosophy claims that studying philosophy cultivates important intellectual abilities and dispositions. But empirical evidence for that claim has been hard to come by. Until now!

Terrible.

The Irish have been one of the groups most protected from enforcement of immigration rules. In the past, large numbers have overstayed visas, gotten jobs, and lived their lives with few worries.

All bets are off now. Everyone needs to be extra cautious.

I hope this works out for her. 🙏🏼

Trump is using Kilmar Abrego Garcia as the threat to the rest of us. “Fall in line or you’ll be disappeared. And I don’t need no stinking due process.”
Kilmar Abrego Garcia is everything right now

For the Trump regime, their ability to disappear the humanity of one Maryland dad is central toward a project of establishing American dictatorship

It's why we must fight for Kilmar's freedom...and our own. My new column www.inquirer.com/opinion/kilm...

The Trump regime lies about a Salvadoran laborer and dad because the truth of his humanity could unravel its dream of autocracy.

I got laid off today, with the rest of 18F.

18F was an elite federal software shop. We made gov't websites work better, more efficiently for the American people. We saved taxpayers from getting screwed over by contractors. And were fired for it.

We made this website to tell our story:

Hello all! I would like to please ask for some advice for a reading for next quarter. I am teaching a class on 19th and 20th West Phil and I would like to add an essay or chapter by Hannah Arendt.
What stand-alone essay by Arendt would speak best to our current crisis?
