Keep coming back to Summers’ annoyance that this female mentee he’s trying to sleep with “takes her presentation very seriously.” To men like this—to a lot of men—women’s intellectual or professional ambition is an irritating presumption that they condescend to tolerate.
The emails have Summers reporting to Epstein about his attempts to date a Harvard economics student & to hit on her during a seminar she was giving.

Trying to get my daughter to like my music has not been successful (though can you blame a 2 year old for not having emo induced brain damage) but we have been successful in making her mostly listen to children’s oriented music that I find very tolerable so that’s a win

The emails that you’re seeing now are news in themselves, but that’s because of how they’re coming out—a congressional committee released them—& the context in which they’re being viewed. A guy emailing a reporter talking about old girlfriends or saying someone is “dirty” is not a whole news story.
