If we were actually in a glorious rainbow age of sci-fi/fantasy like industry influencers claim we are, surely we would be coming up with interesting, groundbreaking new stories instead of endlessly riffing on stories from 50 years ago.
I wonder when squee SFF writers will get tired of trying to fix Omelas or The Cold Equations and move on to writing cheery response stories to Flowers for Algernon
