A year or two ago a centrist guy I know who hates Trump defended Thomas Jefferson because he was “of his time.” I pointed out that Trump is very much of his time as well, and that early 1800s abolitionists were as much of their time as Jefferson was but he acted like I was saying something crazy.
A lot to say in response to the cultural revisionists who say oh you can’t judge them, they didn’t really know slavery was Bad back then, but my initial response is ok then why did they abolish it

One time I saw the Go at the Magic Stick in Detroit and they played so loud that they exploded a speaker or something and the sound guy got on the stage and yelled at them.
Gimme your very random memorable concerts, I dunno. Like: Houndmouth at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park somewhere around 2017, absolutely ruled.

i don't mean to single out baseball fans here, because you see this in lots of fan communities, but in certain corners people talk as though baseball is real. they think all the players are real people and the stadiums are places you can actually visit. to each their own, but that cannot be healthy
