This part. The sooner faculty and staff at universities realize and act on the assumption that for many boards and senior leadership will use this moment as a pretext to wield the kind of control they have wanted over curriculum, governance, and more, the better.
It’s laughable but further proof Columbia is not capitulating but using the demand and cowardice as cover to do what it’s wanted to do from the start.
In the NYT right now, from a Justice Dept lawyer: “I will tell you right now that Columbia has not in my opinion — and the opinion of the Department of Justice — has not cleaned up their act,” Mr. Terrell said. “They’re not even close, not even close to having those funds unfrozen.”

Not surprised that it's community colleges that are fighting back. Community colleges serve the greatest number of people facing systemic barriers. A large percentage of community college students are the first in their family to attend college.
