LSE, Imperial, KCL and UCL all increasing intake by 30-65% is pretty cynical. Can't imagine the student experience in London is also increasing.
Sheffield is the university with the third biggest increase in student recruitment, by the way. In case anyone was still under any impression that there was anything genuine about declarations that staff just has to recruit more undergraduates to salvage their job. thetab.com/2025/08/18/t...

People thought the Handmaid's Tale was pure fiction.
if you're not at the doctor for OB/GYN reasons and they ask you about
- whether you're able to conceive a child
- whether you are *currently ovulating* or any other questions about your cycle
- whether you are using a period tracker app (or recommending said app)

DON'T FUCKING RESPOND
Whatever happened to medical privacy and doctor/patient confidentiality?

I’m seeing way too many healthcare workers reporting their patients for suspected abortions.

Calling ICE on them.

Putting personal politics ahead of patient care.

Only 6% less belief in vaccines than the actual seasons is a win for me.

The 25% of people who aren't convinced by the seasons is a genuine worry, however.
New study on scientific understanding in the US:

Vaccines have mostly been a benefit to human health
69% Agree
20% Unsure
11% Disagree

This (from OpenAI's official demo) is one of the worst chart crimes I've ever seen
GPT-5 is so amazing it can make 52.8 higher than 69.1 on a bar chart

It can even make 69.1 and 30.8 THE SAME SIZE

I guess I should also get locked up. Just in case.
Others have noted that this means foreign-born people are LESS likely than UK-born people to be in prison. What I want to note is that The Times is now referring to foreign-born UK citizens as ‘foreigners’. This includes Boris Johnson, Sir Mo Farah, Emma Watson, Rory Stewart and little old me.

The amazing win by the Lionesses is no doubt a huge lift for women's sport and inspirational for young women and girls across the country.

It should also be something that boys and men in football should look up to. The heart, spirit and togetherness of the team is the rarely seen strength.
