the same media had questions about an 18 yr old kid named Mike Brown getting murdered in the street by a cop inside his cop car, ran endless hypothetical scenarios about this kid possibly trying to over power the cop inside his car, how he somehow caused his own death, and not the cop who shot him

Remember when Israel bombed a hospital and the media talked about how unsure things were that maybe hamas did it, or Hamas could've done it by accident, things are just so complex, and ofc Israel did it and a few months later they had bombed every hospital in Gaza,

Don’t argue logistics with USA legacy media, they’re not really analyzing what happened when an ICE agent shot a woman point blank. Their analysis of when and why a cop executed someone on the street or in their own home as long as I have lived is not to find or report the truth but to sew doubt

i hope 2026 is the year abod will be able to leave gaza. working & raising his kids under conditions of genocide is crushing him. he can't afford to leave on his paycheck alone, and he hasn't received any donations in almost a week. it'd be cool if u could give or share ❤️ chuffed.org/project/help...

Sorry to ask again but I just got home from the hospital with my dad and they charged us an extra $530 on discharge. I paid it but my account is now $120 in the negative. Can anyone help me get back to $0 and avoid the $50 a day overdrafts?
Having trouble articulating this, but I find something off even in articles critical of LLMs' role in suicides, like that NYT one. It's in the way they speciously ascribe agency to them ("ChatGPT recommended," "ChatGPT confirmed," etc.) in ways that ultimately legitimize the industry's own fictions.

You can make LLMs say almost anything. A news organization reporting "what grok said" is engaging in journalistic malpractice. It doesn't know. It just creates plausible sounding words in response to a prompt.

as one does, I’ve been googling a lot of stuff recently and it’s crazy that more than a year in they still insist on putting wrong information via AI overview at the top of almost every search. crazy how quickly ive become accustomed to reflexively scroll past/ignore

I'm sorry to keep harping on this but since my dad is in the hospital I'm the one who has to get this paid for and I'm already drowning under my own bills and chronic pain.
Hate to do this but I just got back from visiting my dad and talking to insurance and we're gonna have some additional hospital costs neither of us (we're both out of work atm) can cover in addition to everything else. I'm sorry to keep asking, it's degrading, but we really need the help.

A discharge petition to advance a policy ending congressional stock trading was finally moving forward when Hakeem Jeffries sucked the air out of it. By proposing his own bill that no Republican would sign, Jeffries effectively made consensus impossible. From @ddayen.bsky.social:
I finally got my new birth certificate but I also need to get my passport renewed before this administration makes sure I can't anymore and I just really cannot afford it with having to help pay for my dad's surgery.
