On what the future looks like unless folks make some noise! We need everyone calling their reps! At a payline of 10%, that means 1 in 10 apps gets funding. We will be looking at 1 in 20 to 1 in 100.
To put this into perspective, in almost 15 years since my postdoc, the best score I have received on an R01 is 8%. You will need a score of 1 - 5% to land a new grant this year, and likely for years to come. I hope you can pull it off, but this is an insane standard that only a lucky few will hit

That feeling of being bullied, talked over, cut off, made to feel like you aren't grateful enough...felt uncomfortably familiar.
